    MEET THE TEAM Robert Manson ​ Founder: Alimama Spaces ​ Qualifications:). NMP, MAP, PGDip-Business Administration, MBA-Strategy Execution- (Wits University). Master of Philosophy- International Business- (University of Pretoria- GIBS). Master’s Degree in Data Science- Big Data and Data Analytics- (University of Liverpool). PGDip- Futures Studies (University of Stellenbosch). Board Leadership Program- (University of Pretoria- GIBS). Executive Leadership Program- (Oxford University- Saïd Business School). Digital Disruptive Strategy Program- (Harvard Business School). PgDip- Finance (UCT-GSB). ​ Robert Manson founded Alimama Spaces in 2015 after gaining experience working for blue-chip multinationals like Altron, IBM, Microsoft, and others. He started his professional career as a gardener, later worked as a security guard, got fired after he was caught sleeping on the job. Soon after being fired, he started working in a call centre for Protea Hotels selling Prokard membership where he spent 5 years of his life building a profile for himself while aggressively pursuing academic studies- currently doing his fourth master’s degree in global finance. Apart from his academic qualifications, he is also a member of the institute of directors with IoDSA and a certified director. He has continued climbing the corporate ladder to an executive level where he is currently an executive at a global multinational. He has been the brains behind Alimama spaces’ phenomenal growth since its inception. His bold vision is to be the biggest shared economy entrepreneur not only in South Africa but across the continent, leveraging on digital platforms like Airbnb as well as digital disruptions across different industries. This model has also assisted him in building a sizable real estate portfolio across the country. He believes that Airbnb and other digital platforms are the future and will continue disrupting traditional businesses that are not willing to innovate and offer unique experiences to consumers. He and his team live by one mission in mind and that's “creating absolutely amazing experiences for all our guests” being hosted at anyone of my spaces. Fun time for Robert is spent on reading, spontaneous travelling, sucker for pain in getting qualifications and is crazily in love with Chelsea Football Club and daily meditation is his spiritual healing. ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ . M m a t s a t s i P h a d i m e Head of Operations: Alimama Spaces Qualifications: Bachelor of Commerce in Mathematics & Economics (University of Witwatersrand) Mmatsatsi Phadime joins Alimama Spaces as an experienced Project Administrator with over 10 years professional experience from a range of companies including listed and public sector entities. She has gained extensive experience in planning and implementing complex projects utillising different methodologies. She is a problem solver and have gained the ability to communicate at different levels and to build solid relationships with all stakeholders in order to deliver against expectations. With all the gained experience over the years, Mmatsatsi joins Alimama Spaces operations teams with the eagerness to learn and grow into becoming a valuable asset within Alimama Spaces. Mmatsatsi’s involvement within the team includes but not limited to the following: management of guests; collaboration with finance, operations and housekeeping to resolve various issues. Also, she will be continuously assisting with increasing digital presence of Alimama Spaces. Mmatsatsi is a team player with decision making capabilities as well as a coach to other team members. She is skilled at analysis, planning and implementation of solutions that support business objectives. She is a people's person, an inquisitive and confident lady with a high focus on delivery. She enjoys, jogging, reading, spending time with individuals close to her heart. Motto she lives by: Be as interested as you are interesting. ​ ​ ​ Faith Magongwa ​ Operations Assistant: Alimama Spaces Qualifications: Occupational Health And Safety Faith Magongwa joined Alimama Spaces in May 2021 as an Operations Assistant. She aims to attract new clientele and maintain positive client relations. She holds a Diploma qualification in Occupational, Health, Safety and Environmental Quality. She prides herself in being able to plan and execute events successfully. Her experience in retail also equips her with interpersonal and problem-solving skills. She describes herself as a kind, fun and talkative person with an eye for fashion and decor. She spends her spare time with family, traveling and cooking. ​ Mpho Phahlang ​ Operations Assistant: Alimama Spaces Qualifications: BA Corporate & Marketing Communications (University of the Free State) Mpho joins Alimama spaces with ten years of corporate expertise in many disciplines of marketing communications. She has extensive knowledge in branding management, advertising, public relations, internal communications, stakeholder engagement, employee engagement and wellness, digital transformation and events management, among other things. She has experience working for SMMEs, multinational organisations, government ministries and UN secretariats. Her most prominent accomplishments include establishing Agile working practises and guiding the digital transformation of more than 300 Vodacom Lesotho workers. Mpho also oversaw behavioural change communications for below- and above-the-line marketing when she was at the National COVID-19 Secretariat. Mpho places a high value on her spirituality and beliefs. She regards herself as an ambivert and keeps a very small social circle. Her interests include interior home décor, improving her culinary skills and a slight obsession with cleaning. ​ Suku Dlamini ​ Operations Assistant: Alimama Spaces ​ Qualifications: High School Certificate ​ Sukoluhle Dlamini is one of the youngest employees at Alimama Spaces and one of the longest-tenured,also known as Lilly. She made my debut into the working class when she joined the housekeeping crew in 2018.She gained an understanding of the business fundamentals at this time. Her ability to grow within the business was rapidly acknowledged, and in October 2021,she was transferred to operations as evidence of Alimama’s commitment to nurturing talents. She is always striving to learn and grow in order to achieve the best possible outcomes. ​ She has established herself as a strong salesperson because of her lively and outgoing nature, which is not limited to her social circles. She has ambitions to acquire formal sales and marketing abilities has risen as a result of this. ​ She loves travelling and Cape Town particularly has a special place in my heart. My love for fashion and beauty are evident. She's always found laughing without a hair out of place! ​ ​ Mohanuwa Motsoahole ​ Operations Assistant: Alimama Spaces ​ Qualifications: Adventure Tourism Management ( Tshwane University of Technology) ​ Mohanuwa, or Hanu as she is popularily known, has a 4 year experience in the hospitality industry.Good with customer service and problem solving. Stepping into Alimama Spaces she is eager to learn and improve her skills to be a valuable asset to the company. She is a hard worker and a team player . As hospitality is broad, I have worked in the entertainment side of it as a Lifeguard and party coordinator, customer service and accommodation as a receptionist, coordinator and Supervisor. She is family oriented, loves music going out and cooking. Ntobeko Mtshamba ​ Head of Finance: Alimama Spaces ​ Qualifications: Higher Certificate in Business Principles and Practice (Varsity College), BTech Degree in Internal Auditing (Cape Peninsula University of Technology) ​ Ntobeko Mtshamba joined Alimama Spaces in November 2021 as a Finance Assistant. He works closely with the Operations Team. Having a thorough background in the financial sector, Ntobeko has an enthused inclination for the practice of accounting. He seeks to be an industry expert in the near future. Heavily influenced by the values of internal auditing, Ntobeko lives his profession with following codes of ethics: Integrity, objectivity, confidentiality, and competency. He consistently practices his duties across the financial sector with these values as his anchors. Ntobeko’s past role was that of a Financial Advisor at an Agency of Old Mutual. The role exposed him to the six-step financial planning framework and to helping people who value financial well-being achieve their lifetime financial goals. This brought him contentment as he is a person who appreciates financial security. ​ He enjoys reading, watching competitive sports and occasionally attending social events. ​ ​ ​ Karabo Moima ​ Finance Intern : Alimama Spaces ​ Qualification: Bachelor of commerce in Accounting ( university of Johannesburg) ​ Karabo Moima is an aspiring chartered Accountant (CA). She considers the wide range of career options offered by the profession across different industries as one of her attractions to this prestigious profession. As a recent graduate with no prior work experience, she is eager to explore the finance and accounting world. Karabo believes that the internship will provide her an opportunity to apply what she has learnt in the classroom to practical situations and, in return she hopes to obtain valuable experience in the finance and accounting fields. She aims to use her commitment and devotion to contribute towards the growth of Alimama spaces. During her spare time she likes painting her nails and solving jigsaw puzzles. Edwin Chauke ​ Data Scientist and Investment Analyst Intern: Alimama Spaces ​ Qualifications: BSc in Actuarial Science (University of the Witwatersrand), Postgraduate Diploma Candidate in Data Science (University of the Witwatersrand) ​ Edwin Chauke, our dynamic Data Scientist and Investment Analyst Intern at Alimama Spaces, brings together a solid academic foundation and a deep passion for the world of data-driven insights. Holding a Bachelor of Science degree in Actuarial Science from the University of the Witwatersrand and currently pursuing a postgraduate diploma in Data Science, Edwin is on a journey to harness the power of data in real-world scenarios. ​ As an intern, Edwin is dedicated to applying his theoretical knowledge to practical challenges. His unique blend of actuarial expertise and emerging data science skills positions him as a valuable contributor to our team. Edwin is enthusiastic about bridging the gap between data science and investment strategies, recognizing the transformative potential of data-driven insights in optimizing our operations. ​ Edwin is also an active member of the Actuarial Society of South Africa and the Statistical Association of South Africa, reflecting his commitment to staying at the forefront of these fields. At Alimama Spaces, we're excited to support Edwin's growth and development as he actively participates in data-centric projects, supports our analytical endeavors, and leverages his fresh perspective to drive innovation in our industry. Leina Manson ​ Housekeeping Manager: Alimama Spaces ​ Qualification: Bachelor in Business Administration. Leina Manson or Lei as she has become affectionately known by the team joined Alimama Spaces from its inception as part of the housekeeping staff coming from a sales background hungry for new opportunities and throughout the years demonstrated great discipline and dedication which saw her move from housekeeping to housekeeping Manager, which is a role she has been thriving in for the past 4 years. Lei Ensured that housekeeping and laundry staff are trained in all service s, including cleaning procedures to rival hotel standards. Established a highly effective system to manage the work schedule for the team and work as a bridge between housekeeping and Operations. Caleb Mapetere ​ Maintainance Manager/Driver: Alimama Spaces ​ Qualification: High School certificate, Valid South African drivers license. Caleb Mapetere joined Alimama Spaces as a driver/ maintenance manager who has proven to be a valuable asset to Alimama spaces. Has a very strong work ethic supported with 7 years driving experience. Outgoing driver proficient in safe operations, passenger transportation and inclement weather driving. Excellent communicator and problem solver with a solid track record in the field and an outstanding safety background. A family man who is always willing to go the extra mile to get the job done.
